Sweet Dream Maple Farm began when Al Stein had a great idea, let’s tap a tree and make some maple syrup. At the time he and Amy were raising their young family and they wanted to teach their children a little bit about nature and the wonderful things God has given us. This small idea grew into what has become the farmstead it is today, raising highland cattle, pigs, sheep, chickens, and of course making maple syrup a business that can support itself. At this farm you never know what animals you’ll see but you can always get some maple syrup, maybe a few other maple products and a good conversation with one of the Stein family. Besides building a business, one important goal has been to educate. Small groups, families, neighbors, and friends have come to know how maple syrup is made and the history of maple syrup in this region and why it was an important item in our past. Today they welcome visitors who are interested to come and see for themselves the little farm that makes maple syrup in Genesee County.
